W(O)W: Elise Gipson x The Experience by E.G., LLC

Elise Gipson is the owner and operator of The Experience by E.G., LLC, which was founded in 2019. Her desire has always been planning, accommodating, and organizing. Based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, The Experience consists of all things related to event coordinating, organizing and graphic design. Elise’s goal is to assist clients through their process of finding time to focus and complete their essential tasks.

Elise is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Southern University. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved when she was 10 years old. She is currently enrolled in the Southeastern University Master’s program. Her motto: Everything will work out, it always does. When she isn’t hard at work you can most likely find her diving into a book, listening to music or catching Z’s. She loves to travel, organizing, and helping people in any capacity. The Experience has allowed her opportunities to live this out. Looking ahead she hopes to continue traveling and expanding her business in different aspects.

Creative. Leader. Insightful. Since she was a kid, Elise has been aware of her creativity and originality. Recently, she has realized she has a habit of taking on leadership roles unknowingly. Her insightful side tries to grasp understanding in every situation in order to figure out how her next steps might be impacted.

Purpose for Elise is the reason for existence. She believes that God put us on the Earth to make a difference in some way, and no difference is too small or big. Purpose isn’t something that is outside of you, but already placed inside of you by God. She encourages others to take control and tap into themselves by doing the inner work and walking in that truth. She shares how this is something she still has to remind herself to practice (she recommends listening to “How to Develop A Vision & Purpose” by Myles Munroe).

Elise is passionate about self-improvement and lives with the mindset of doing better than the day before while also giving herself grace. She strives to take self-improvement beyond herself and discover other ways to help people, even if it’s just one, and be a light.

BE INTENTIONAL. Elise encourages others to intentionally approach every decision. Don’t feel rushed or allow the societal pressures to push you toward starting your business or other entrepreneurial pursuits. She advises others to ensure that passion is a strong pillar of their dream and not a trend. Elise emphasizes that hard work is required for something worth having.

She solidifies the fact that, “For females, and especially women of color, we have to work 10 times harder. There will be times where you may be overlooked or rejected. There will be times that your clients will be unsatisfied. You have to constantly remind yourself why you started.” This is why she encourages clarifying the intention from day one and offers the critical reminder to stay true to you and be confident in your work!

She admits that facing challenges brings her excitement, as they are inevitably something we will all face. She believes perspective is key and instead of asking “why is this happening?,” she tries to practice asking “what is this teaching me?,” which allows her to use the challenge as a stepping stone toward doing better in the future and/or applying the lesson to another area of life.

Elise has a tight knit circle anchored by empowerment. She tries to live a life that radiates empowerment in all possible ways. This could be through sending a random inspirational message or a simple reminder to others to keep pushing forward. Her mother and sister are two people who are the core of her foundation. Their journey together has given them the strength to empower one another in critical ways.

The Experience has enabled Elise to embrace freedom and control of her own schedule as a creative and entrepreneur. One of her proudest accomplishments is the development of her character through the journey and creation of The Experience. Through the past year she has learned more about herself and has intentionally worked to stand her ground and be assertive. In business, she tended to be passive and go with the flow, now, she is striving to value her voice and stand up for what she wants. (yes, queen!)
