We are here with our first Woman of the Week of 2020!!

Welcome to the story of TahJah Harmony, who is storyteller herself, she uses podcasts, photography, and videography to tell stories. You can keep up-to-date with her storytelling adventure by following her on social media (@tahjahharmony). She would describe herself as empathetic, an encourager, whimsical and slightly stubborn (spoiler: her stubbornness helps her reach her goal). When she isn’t working, you can find TahJah taking care of her plant babies, traveling and immersing herself in other cultures, or rock climbing.

TahJah started her college adventure as a music major. Fun fact: she plays violin. She changed her major to theatre and then eventually found her niche in the Art Department at LSU. This is when the stubbornness becomes resourceful. TahJah had limited art experience before college and she wasn’t accepted to the Art Department at LSU right away. However, with persistence and a dash of stubbornness, TahJah was able to join the department, she said she, “went every day until they accepted me” (now that is dedication!).

Storytelling is what TahJah appreciates most about what she does. She believes as long as she is sharing stories she is doing the right thing. She appreciates the opportunity to learn and listen about the lives of others. Even more so, TahJah enjoys showing others the beauty in their life through an encouraging word or a photograph. She believes it is difficult for one to see themselves and her storytelling abilities helps with that.

For TahJah, purpose is the reasoning behind creation and she affirms the truth that we were all created to fulfill a purpose. Purpose, in her sight, is not rigid, and we aren’t confined within the limits of one purpose. She believes that understanding purpose as multi-layered will help us to unlock possibilities that will bring fulfillment.

TahJah isn’t a huge fan of pumps, but she can be found wearing her rock climbing shoes, which she claims are definitely just as painful!!

For the female entrepreneurs in the house, TahJah wants you to know that who you are surrounding yourself with is important! She wants you to know the type of female entrepreneurs you NEED in you life. First, you need women who are walking the same journey as you because that entrepreneur grind can be isolating and lonely, but another woman walking a similar journey can give that much needed extra dose of encouragement. Secondly, do you have a woman in your life who is ahead of you? This may sound intimidating, but TahJah shares that, “her wisdom will encourage you in places that you might not see yet.” Lastly, fostering a relationship with someone who is “behind” you is is just as important as the first two women because that bond creates unity and an empowering movement within the female entrepreneur community.

TahJah’s greatest accomplishment to date is her podcast, which has also been the hardest thing she has ever created. She had to put the podcast on hold for a sec because she found herself lost in this “passion brain child” of hers (What’s your “passion brain child”?). However, she is currently in the works of piecing her podcast, as well as her brand, together in a way that portrays her in the most truest form.

Being a creative, TahJah has found a love for the community of likeminded individuals she has connected with. She shares about growing up and how she felt alone, but when she started seeking out people who love building creative passions into professions she was overwhelmed with a feeling of belonging. Looking at the road ahead, she plans on setting up time to work on “passion work” as much as paid commercial work to prevent losing a side of herself in busy seasons.
