W(O)W: Kaylee Lanier x Molded Dreams

Molded Dreams is a collection of intentionally designed and created polymer clay earrings. The mission of Molded Dreams is to encourage self-expression, foster authenticity, and support others.

Black Pointed Ankle Booties from Mill and Gray. These are Kaylee’s go-to #pump! “The black makes them classic, the style makes them edgy, and the heel makes them feminine. They're perfect for my eclectic style and so versatile.”

Kaylee Lanier is the woman behind the magic who started Molded Dreams in February of 2020. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, where she was homeschooled her whole life, and currently lives in Sulphur, LA with her husband, cat and dog. After graduating High School, she earned her prerequisites for nursing school at Southeastern Louisiana University and was accepted to nursing school. She dropped out in the middle of her first semester after realizing that was not the path for her. She graduated with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology and earned her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2018. She not currently working in veterinary medicine, but maintains her license.

Molded Dreams was birthed from Kaylee’s experience battling depression while she was on oral contraceptives. She openly shares, “I felt so much desperation that I had to leave veterinary medicine, as it is an emotionally demanding profession.” She is a firm believer in better educating and empowering women in regard to reproductive health.

Eclectic. Authentic. Encouraging.

Kaylee’s style is a combination of many things, and she is a proud advocate for embracing being multifaceted. She prefers deep conversation over small talk, and wants to know what makes a person unique. Kaylee is the ultimate #hypewoman! If you share your dreams with her she promises to shout it from the rooftops. She is passionate about connecting with other creatives and building them up with encouragement. She is inspired by other creatives in different spaces such as content creation, styling, makeup artistry, graphic design and photography. For Kaylee, everyday is an opportunity to love someone, build someone up, and foster mutual creativity.

If she’s not hyping you up, you can find her thrifting, cuddling her fur babies while watching True Crime Youtube, trying makeup looks (just to stay home #relatable) , listening to 90s and 2000s rock or chilling anywhere in Lake Charles where there's live music (pre-COVID and Hurricane Laura).

Kaylee is a Christian and this guides her view of the world and her purpose. She lives life with a focus on the question, “How can I love those around me like Jesus?” For her, purpose is using your God given gifts in order to enrich your life and the lives of others.

With Molded Dreams, Kaylee has been able to forge priceless relationships, connections and meet amazing creatives. Her business was inspired by her love for creativity and art and is one of her favorite aspects of her work. She is a self-proclaimed homebody, so working from home is a definite pro for her.

Perspective is powerful. Kaylee monitors her perspective when facing challenges and reminds herself that they are opportunities to grow. After shifting her mindset she will proceed by educating herself and researching. Most challenges she’s faced in regard to her business have been easier to resolve after research and receiving clarity.

“Acknowledge and feel the fear, but go for it anyways.”

Kaylee encourages others to learn from what they’re afraid of because dismissing fear can be more harmful than helpful. If you wait to jump until the fear is all gone you may never get the chance to jump. Her experience with Molded Dreams has taught her to be herself and infuse her personality into her business. Kaylee wants you to know it IS possible to be your authentic self and not sacrifice professionalism!

Kaylee has participated in styled shoots across the country, filled bulk orders for various talented photographers, and initiated local popups, which were all all dream goals she had first started. Overall, her proudest accomplishment was stepping out in faith and confidence to launch her business. Molded Dreams was formed from a dark place, and she quit her job before starting, which she doesn’t necessarily recommend. Reflecting on her journey, she is so proud that she believed in her dream and held nothing back.

She is overwhelmed with appreciation when she sees her customers wearing her jewelry and is reminded that others love and appreciate her art, which she has been able to transform into a profitable business.

Some of her current goals include creating local (Louisiana) styled shoots and content with other creatives, stocking her earrings for local businesses and further incorporating styling into her business. This is only the beginning, carry your own piece of Molded Dreams with you wherever you go!
