Social Distancing: Is this real life?
It is no secret that the world has quite literally flipped upside down and not just our community, but the world. Humanity has been suddenly interrupted by the Corona Virus, also known as COVID-19. This means some of us may be working from home, struggling to find work, losing our minds because we are 100% an extrovert, stuck in a rut of being unproductive because nap time is callllling us (even though its only 11am). This list could go on forever . . .
In all of the chaos one thing is for certain, we are in this together and TOGETHER WE WILL RISE. We are surrounded by uncertainty and unknowns, but if we grab the hand of our neighbor (figuratively.. because rona is out to get us #washyahands) we can and will come out of this stronger.
As we find ourselves spending more time isolated and/or with a more lenient schedule, there are a few things to consider that can hopefully help keep our lives flowing normally and comfortably.
Set some goals for your day and week
Our goals can be big or small, but don’t stress yourself out and try to do them all at once like Sponge Bob! Maybe you’ve been procrastinating on work or need to clean out that junk drawer (yeah, we all know about the one junk drawer we all have). However big or small, setting goals will help us give purpose to our day and there is nothing that compares to that feeling of accomplishing something we set out to do!
Social distancing does not mean isolation
Yes, we want to prevent the spread of the #Rona, although this doesn’t mean we should say “Adios” to socializing and our BFFs. We need to socialize, we need to know we are not alone in this. Use this time to call that friend or family member you’ve been meaning to reach out too. This is the perfect opportunity to also connect with your PPG family! With social media, FaceTime, Zoom, and similar platforms, we can stay connected even if it’s not face-to-face. We can help each other and hopefully give some uplifting encouragement during this hectic time.
Take care of yourself
It can be easy during this time to sit around in PJ’s all day (which is sometimes very, and I stress, very, necessary), but we should still take time to care for ourselves the way we would on a normal Corona-free day. Keep up with with your hair routine, face routine, morning routine, keep going with alllll the routines sis. Drink your wine, wear your face mask and watch all your worries disappear even if only for a little. When we feel good we give ourselves the motivation to #getitdone, whatever “it” is. All this to say we fully support an all-day PJ party. Beyond physically, it is also necessary to take care of yourself mentally and emotionally. Find some time to still your mind and make sure you are good and at peace. Maybe stream a yoga class on YouTube, meditate, listen to your favorite tunes, or take a nap.
PPG is always here for you we love you, we care about you, we are with you! #washyahands
