Shoutout: Thank you, The Pad Project!
We’re sending a big thank you over to our friends at the Pad Project partnering with our organization for the 4th year in a row! This year, Power Pump Girls, Inc. was awarded a $3,500 grant to continue period equity work in our community.
The Pad Project started out as a small group of concerned students and educators and a short film has blossomed into a global activist organization for menstrual issues.
They’ve had incredible success and accomplishments since their start in 2013. The Pad Project's original film project, Period. End of Sentence., won an Academy Award. Once they gained traction, they went global, launching programs for washable pads and placing pad machines in various other countries.
Here in the United States, the Pad Project has started programs to counter period poverty. The programs support menstrual sustainability, boosting start-ups for period equity and Pads for Schools, where they’ve partnered with different grassroots and school districts to provide products and education.
The Pad Project sustains its mission through its Ambassador Program, which is a global activism program they’ve created to unite and serve their communities about period equity!
Our mission at PPG goes hand-in-hand with The Pad Project. Encouraging education, period equity and access to products are essential to the empowerment of women and creating comfortability around menstrual topics. Thank you for helping us on our shared mission!
