I Fund Women of Color: COVID-19 Grant Recipient
Power Pump Girls Inc. is ecstatic to announce that we have recently been chosen for the @Caress and @IFundWomen of Color COVID-19 grant program. #ifundwomenofcolor is a platform dedicated to supporting diverse entrepreneurs with access to the capital, coaching, and connections needed to launch and grow successful businesses.
@Caress has partnered with @IFundWomen and has committed to utilizing their platform and funds to create a space of equity and amplify work from women of color.
(via @Caress Instagram) According to American Express and Forbes, “Of the 1,800 new businesses started by women in this country, 89% of them are founded by a woman of color.” However, “less than 1% of women of color receive venture funding for new ventures.”
@Caress goal is to empower and uplift women, particularly women of color. They have committed $1,000,000 over the next two years to support women of color entrepreneurs and small businesses owners.
The immediate relief will be provided to women of color owned small businesses and entrepreneurs who have been disproportionately impacted by the economic strain due to COVID-19 and the biases of institutional racism.
We give @Caress and @IFundWomen a special thanks for their intentional and necessary work that allows a WOC owned non-profit such as PPG to not only survive, especially in these times, but t h r i v e.
PPG is currently raising funds to create more solutions, education and awareness around period poverty. SHARE OUR CAMPAIGN! We need more founders to hit our goal and create a wave of impact!
