W(o)W: Chavanne Cazayoux Debetaz x Cazayoux Creative
Chavanne Cazayoux Debetaz is a Baton Rouge entrepreneur and the owner of Cazayoux Creative, which is a marketing company specializing in copywriting and content writing. They’re a collective of word and ideasmiths known for partnering with start-ups, small businesses, advertising agencies and anyone else who has something to say (but might not know how to verbalize it).
ABOUT CHAVANNE
Hailing from small town New Roads, LA, Chavanne followed her innate passion for words, sentences and stories to Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Here, she cultivated her skill-set and graduated with a degree in advertising and copy.
Before starting her own agency, Chavanne worked for Slingshot, LLC. on Borden Dairy, American Home Shield, Texas Tourism and Taco Bueno. Previously, she worked at Lamar Advertising on billboard campaigns. While she loves to explore the world and experience new things, it should be noted that Chavanne’s passion for traveling never stops her from being home for her favorite holiday: Mardi Gras.
We were honored to interview this PPG about her life, business, and goals for the future. Keep reading for more on Chavanne & Cazayoux Creative!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
I hate monotony. And I love the fact that what I do is anything but boring. We’re problem solvers and every client has their unique puzzles for us to solve. It’s exhilarating, collaborative and, sometimes, terrifying.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT TO DATE AND WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?
Opening Cazayoux Creative. [My goal for the future is to] continue growing Cazayoux Creative and employing more like-minded, creative folks to help us produce work that we're proud of — and that makes our clients money.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS OR ENTREPRENEURS IN THE MAKING?
When you’re afraid to ask for help or afraid of rejection, channel your inner Beyonce and pretend like you’re brave until you are. You will get rejected and it’s up to you to keep pushing until you get to the “yes” you need.
HOW DO YOU FACE CHALLENGES?
I “talk it out.” I call any mentors or ears that will offer guidance or, many times, just listen to me talk myself into the solution.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE PURPOSE - WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
To me, purpose is finding — and following — your passions. It doesn’t have to be some big, shiny movement that’s changing the world. Doing what makes you the happiest version of yourself has a domino effect — and that’s pretty world-changing if you ask me.
WHEN YOU’RE OUT AND ABOUT BEING A TOTAL BOSS BABE, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVE PAIR OF PUMPS?
My white and pink Kate Spade embroidered heels — they're quirky, yet classy and feminine.
