Meet the Team - Brianna Beck

HOLA! MY NAME IS BRIANNA

but all my friends call me Bri or Cardibri! I am currently in my Freshman year at LSU, majoring in English with a minor in Spanish. I moved to Baton Rouge from Cleveland, Ohio about three years ago, the summer before my junior year of high school. If I am not at a local coffee shop in Baton Rouge, you can find me at my church, hanging with my family, or at the gym. I am heavily involved at my church, Fellowship, and currently lead a group of seventh graders for our youth ministry. My dream job would be sharing the word of God to women all over the world because women are awesome and so is God! If you don’t remember anything else about me, do remember that I LOVE TACOS!

When I moved to Baton Rouge I was looking to get involved in the community. While on Instagram, I was heavily stalking local Baton Rouge businesses and Power Pump Girls came across my feed. I messaged them on Instagram and did not expect a response back. I remember thinking to myself “no way they will respond to my random Instagram DM they are probably so busy.” A few days later I had an unread message that was from none other than THE Power Pump Girls!! Following that interaction, we had a conversation over the phone and I was thrilled. Eventually, we had a meeting and our energy and goals matched. Now I write blogs for PPG!!

PPG IS NOT ONLY A NON-PROFIT, IT IS A MINDSET, AN ATTITUDE, AND A LIFESTYLE.

The whole experience is still surreal. When I reached out to PPG, I didn’t know exactly what would happen, I only knew that I agreed wholeheartedly with their mission. I trusted the process! Writing blogs for PPG not only strengthens my writing skills, but helps me learn how to think creatively in a world full of new ideas everyday. Having PPG women in my life as an example of what it means to persevere is the best part. I have direct access to women who are far more experienced then I am and, therefore, are able to guide me in the right direction. From this internship, my goal is to gain experience, whether it be strengthening my communication skills or writing skills. I also want to take advantage of being able to observe the behind-the-scenes work that plays a major role in operating a non-profit like PPG.

xoxo,

Bri
