Six Simple Saving Tips: All Hustlers Need is the Money

Coach said it best, “tell them to bring me my money,” can I get an Amen?

These are “uncertain times” as I am sure you know because this is how everyone begins their emails now, and it’s true. These are “uncertain times,” “scary times,” “stressful times” and more, one thing that is uncertain nationwide is financial stability. All the PPG hustlers have different scenarios and situations, but finances impact everyone even if it’s in different ways. Maybe you’re telling your job #bringmemymoney, or your waiting on that stimulus check to hit #runmemycheck, either way PPG has some advice for being smart with money and saving.

Wherever you find yourself in this season, with regards to money, finances, spending and saving, we want to offer six simple tips that can help maintain your focus and judgement concerning finances because we all want the money, honey!

  1. Be Honest—When is the last time you genuinely looked at your spending and analyzed how much you were spending and what you were specifically spending it on? Sometimes better spending and saving habits will come from understanding what the money is being spent on.

  2. Budget— Boundaries for spending will pay off in the long run, help you build your savings and make you a more conscience spender!

  3. Save, save, save— Future you will thank past you when the day comes that you need some savings! Ask yourself, do you really need another pair sandals that look just like the ones you bought three months ago?

  4. Plan Ahead— Being aware of current spending habits and future spending (trips, school, events etc.) will help you strategically plan and again future you will love past you who decided to be intentional with their money!

  5. Play the system— What do I mean? Let’s not eat out (once we get out of quarantine and go back to work) everyday, pack a lunch to limit spending, this is just a small example. Small decisions like ordering water instead of soda for lunch can make a big difference for monthly and yearly spending.

  6. Balance— there is no need to only buy necessities to reduce your spending (you need have fun and buy that cute shirt!). . . but you should also push yourself to change your spending habits in all ways necessary because change = results.

I just recently started taking these tips seriously and it makes the difference! All of these steps can be summed up in two words. Be. Smart. Only you know your spending habits and what’s going to tempt you to spend, for me it’s a solid 50% off sale, so I don’t even risk clicking the link (okay, sometimes I do). Make the sacrifice today, thank yourself tomorrow.
